As Jerome K. Jerome wrote in 1890: “The blazer is loud. There is really no other word for it.” Blazers are supposed to be loud, and anyone who tells you otherwise doesn’t get it.
Before Rowing Blazers launched, we knew we wanted to design an eye-catching pattern that recalled the wild “deck-chair” stripes of club blazers often seen (even today) at the Henley Royal Regatta, Cambridge, and Oxford. We took inspiration from a vintage Jaques croquet wicket and, using only Microsoft Paint, created what would become our signature stripe. Since then, our croquet stripe has been worn by the likes of Will Ferrell, Kerri Walsh, Mindy Kaling, Thundercat, and luminaries of all stripes (pun intended) around the world.
