A PRETTY BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

A PRETTY BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

We’re beyond excited to announce that Rowing Blazers has been acquired by Burch Creative Capital. Here’s a statement from our founder and creative director Jack Carlson:

“It’s been an absolutely wild six-and-a-half years building the Rowing Blazers brand with my co-founder David and so many other amazing people. Eight years ago, David and I were sitting at an In-N-Out next to the USRowing Training Center writing ideas for the brand on a napkin: let’s do collaborations with Seiko, FILA, Barbour, Hunter, Umbro, and (why not?) Tudor. Let’s do a pop up at Beams in Tokyo and Selfridge’s in London. Wouldn’t it be cool if some of our favorite basketball players and musicians started wearing the brand? We didn’t even dare to imagine partnerships with Gucci or Target.

“MANY OF OUR FRIENDS ADVISED US, FOR OUR OWN GOOD, NOT TO START THE ROWING BLAZERS BRAND. WE POLITELY DISREGARDED ALL OF THIS WELL-INTENTIONED ADVICE AND WENT AHEAD ANYWAY.”

“We frankly had no idea how to do any of these things or what the next few years had in store for us. Many of our friends advised us, for our own good, not to start the Rowing Blazers brand. ‘Preppy is over, it’s dead,’ they said. When I told people we were going to do rugby shirts in a big way, the rugby shirt was dead too. ‘You mean the shirts little kids used to wear? With the rubber buttons and white collars?’ We politely disregarded all of this well-intentioned advice, and went ahead anyway.

“There are too many people to thank, but most of all thank you to the Rowing Blazers community. I’m excited for the beginning of a new chapter on this journey…”
