This is Jordan Firstman

This has been quite the year for you, tell us a little about it.

I’d rather not! Jk it’s been wild. Biggest break up of my life. Tv show got killed. Met Laura Dern. Randomly got famous on the internet. Kept getting more famous on the internet. Made some people laugh. Became a model. Drank the koolaid. Diet Prada cancelled me. Got depressed. Questioned everything. Learned to love the internet and then learned to hate it even more. Turned 30. 22 year olds now think i’m “daddy." Big year!

Where did you grow up?

I forget! Was so long ago…

What is YOUR favorite impression you’ve done?

I still really love the french lesbians LBGT impression. Parent forcing their child to microdose acid. Eve wanting to do molly with Adam.

What are your favorite movies?

Anything by Paul Mazursky, Andrea Arnold, Mike Nichols, Yorgos Lanthimos, Ruben Östlund, Mike White, Jane Campion.

Who are your style icons? Feel free to give a long list.

Donatella of course. Adam Sandler. Dennis Rodman. Guido Anselmi from Eight and a Half. Brad Pitt in fight club. Elton John for his commitment to his own thing. These new crust punk gender fluid 20 year old rave kids im seeing around, Kid Rock. People I see around east LA.  You were recently in NYC - what were some of your favorite things to do?

Most are illegal!

Favorite artists right now.

Anyone who is making challenging, non reductive work. Mike White, as mentioned before. Going back and reading Jean Genet. Kate Berlant and Jacqueline Novak of POOG. Michaela Coel. Ottessa Moshfegh. Raphael Bob Waxberg. Meg Stalter. Patricia Lockwood. Stanley Stellar.

Favorite brands.

Praying, Barragan, GmBh, GCDS, Foo and Foo, Pro Club. I like brands with a sense of humor and an edge and a strong vision.

Who are your writing gurus/mentors?

Again, Mike White changed my life in my early 20s with Enlightened. Helped shape my voice. Richard Lagravanese has been an amazing mentor, as well as filmmaker Stephen Winter. Stephen Sondheim brought me up. Sza for the honesty. Lana for the irreverence. Frank for the genius.  How would you describe your personal style?

I like mixing high and low. Big sport shorts with an oversize dress shirt and a tie is the look this summer. I was calling it "Tie Girl Summer" but then I said it out loud and realized I should not call it that. I like evolving. Using references and inspiration but then adding my own flare to it. Standing out sometimes or blending in when I feel like it. Intentional and refined chaos.

Tell us about a project you’re especially proud of.

Being too proud of anything publicly has always gotten me in trouble.
