NANTUCKET REDS FROM MURRAY’S TOGGERY SHOP

NANTUCKET REDS FROM MURRAY’S TOGGERY SHOP

Our ongoing partnership with Nantucket institution Murray’s Toggery Shop dates back to 2018, and has included a collaborative apparel collection and a pop-up shop in their historic flagship. Today, it continues with a new capsule featuring items from Murray’s iconic Nantucket Reds Collection.

Nestled atop quaint and cobblestoned Main Street in Nantucket’s Downtown Historic District, the legendary Murray’s Toggery Shop officially opened in 1945 - but its roots can be traced back further: the location was first founded by R. H. Macy as a dry goods store in 1843 before eventually becoming a toggery shop in 1916, providing locals with essentials like footwear, waders, hunting clothes and foul weather gear. In the 1960s, Murray’s introduced their iconic “Nantucket Reds” canvas: a durable, dusty reddish fabric that’s “guaranteed to fade” and has since come to define the island’s aesthetic identity. Today, the shop still proudly anchors both the north end of Main Street and the Nantucket community at large.

The capsule features items from Murray’s celebrated Nantucket Reds Collection, including: a vest and full-zip jacket in velvety butter fleece; a crewneck sweatshirt; a long-sleeve button-down shirt; cotton canvas gym shorts; cotton mesh pique polo shirts in multiple styles; an adult baseball cap; ladies’ overalls, slim-fit pants and jean skirt; and kids’ bucket hats and gym shorts.

The “Nantucket Reds” capsule is available now, both here on our site and at our ongoing pop-up shop at Murray’s.
