Provenance

"Corde-du-roi" ("cord of the king") is the mythical origin for the modern word "corduroy." In reality, the material originated as an industrial workwear fabric. We prefer the more regal connotation. And that's why, while most corduroy jackets - even the expensive ones - feel stiff and starchy, ours is super soft. Made from luxurious Italian wide-wale corduroy, our jacket is velvet-y enough to nap in. Hand-tailored in New York City with a Latin proverb (Cicero's "O Tempora! O Mores!") stitched under the lapel, this jacket is fit for a king. It's unlined in the back and perfect for September-March.
