Stan Log Cabin Quilt Jacket

One of a Kind Stan Jacket

This quilt jacket is made from a 1910 log cabin feedsack quilt. Curated by Clare Mckarns, lifelong quilter, restoration specialist, and curator of antique quilts between early 1800-2000. Member of the Bumann Quilters group in Olivenhain, California, sharing unique stories of curated antique quilts and textiles. This log cabin was found in Nebraska in the home of loving couple James and Eve, which warmed their loving family for decades.

Three front pockets, five buttons. Lining is made from a chalky pink layered cotton with a jacquard weave which gives it a quilted look and feel. All idiosyncrasies, mending, and wear are unique to the original textile. Tailor made in Los Angeles. Dry clean only. All sales are final.

Created by artist and surfer Tristan Detwiler, Stan uses 100% upcycled vintage and antique textiles.

At Rowing Blazers, we love stories, and we love archaeology. For us, Stan’s use of found textiles gives each piece a sense of story, a sense of material biography. Hand-made in Los Angeles using vintage mending, quilting, and appliqué techniques, each Stan piece is one-of-a-kind.
