Notes

A 37.5mm stainless steel automatic dive watch by Swiss watch maker Caravelle. Caravelle was a sub-brand of Bulova, launched in 1962. This amazing looking and chunky dive watch has everything one would come to expect from a late 1960's diving watch. Very broad Tritium lume filled black hands, lollipop sweep, broad hour markers and a rotating timing bezel for one hour. The watch has a 666 feet depth rating, which subsequently lead for this watch to be knick named the "Devil Diver". With the red color details to the markers and sweep seconds hand, it also has a devilish appearance! The movement is a A. Schild automatic 17 jewel robust and dependable engine. The day and date are both a quick set function, set by pulling out the crown one step. The watch comes on the original signed Caravelle bracelet. Both the case and the bracelet show signs of wear, but nothing overly distracting, and are unpolished, showing strong original case lines. The dial and hands set are immaculate, with the lume having toned into a very appealing creamy, lemon color. All the tritium glows evenly and perfectly under UV light. This is a wonderful and honest example of a great vintage dive watch.
