Provenance

“Like the court liveries and heraldic devices of medieval Europe, the street gang colors of Compton, and the patches and badges of Boy Scouts and Hell’s Angels, rowing blazers are tribal totems.  The black-and-black blazer is a nod to some of these other subcultures and milieus; a subtle, urban variation on the traditional blazer; and a rakish evening jacket all at the same time.  Looks dope with a hoodie; or a tuxedo shirt; or camo; or just about anything else.  Handmade vitreous enamel cloisonné badge included; the hidden stitching under the lapel is a quote by the Emperor Vespasian.  When his son Titus voiced an objection to a new tax on Rome’s public urinals, the emperor reached into a bag of coins and held a handful of aurei and denarii under his son’s nose.  ‘Pecunia non olet,’ he said.  ‘The money doesn’t smell.’" - Jack
