  • Everything was bigger in the 80's - the hair, the belts, the shoulder pads - and, yes, the fits.  With that in mind, we humbly present the 1983 Polo, or the Classic Pique Polo.  Featuring a roomier fit than our 1973 polo, the 1983 Classic Pique Polo is made with the same, soft 100% Peruvian Pima Cotton that made it an icon in the first place. The 1983 Classic Pique Polo Polo features an external placket, taped seams, split tennis tail vents, signature grosgrain detail, and embroidered leaf logo.

  • 100% Peruvian Pima Cotton. Embroidered Leaf Logo on Wearer's Left Chest. Two-Button External Placket. Taped Seams. Triple Bartack at Side Vent. Tennis Tail Hem.

  • Roomier 80's Fit.

  • Founded in 1973 by a group of All-American collegiate squash and tennis players, Boast was created as the American answer to traditional European tennis brands.

With its irreverent attitude and subtly subversive approach to sport, Boast shares some of the same ethos that guides Rowing Blazers.

The ‘70s were a time of individuality. In tennis, it was an era of rebels who dominated the courts and culture at large. Like the American icons of the era, Boast developed a healthy sense of rebellious irreverence.

Boast’s celebrated logo - a Japanese Maple leaf (sometimes mistaken for another type of leaf) - has been spotted on piqué tennis shirts and warm-ups sported by the likes of John McEnroe, Donald Young, John Updike, George W. Bush, and, of course, Joel Goodsen — Tom Cruise’s character in Risky Business.
