  • The Rolex-Domino’s connection is perhaps the ultimate high-low collaboration. These watches were not made for purchase by the public, but as a way to reward Domino’s franchise owners who hit their sales targets.

All these watches were originally ordered through Schlanderer and Sons in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where Domino’s has its headquarters. In the past, these watches on the secondhand market were generally the least expensive Rolex a person could purchase as few people wanted a pizza logo like this on their dial. Dealers would buy them, swap out the Domino’s dial, and polish off the case back initials. Over the last year, however, they have gained a massive following. The watch features an engraving on the back with the recipient’s initials above “T.S.M.” for Thomas S. Monaghan, the founder of Domino’s. The engravings were made in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The watch is unpolished, and measures 34mm in diameter. The T serial number dates to circa 1996 and the dial is original featuring tritium luminous material and “T SWISS MADE T” below 6:00. The watch includes the original guarantee document.

The present watch came from the widow of the original owner. The original owner managed Domino’s stores and was awarded the watch for turning around a failing franchise. His initials were “M.E.”

This version features the “tilted logo” that is the last version of Dominos’s Rolex watch with the logo on the dial. One could describe this as the first version of the tilted logo dial as later versions had Super-LumiNova luminous material and signatures below 6:00 that only say “Swiss Made”.

  • Vintage watches are mechanical objects that can require service of the movements and all these watches have been worn in the past. Since these pieces are vintage or pre-owned, please expect wear and patina from past usage and age.

Mechanical watches do not keep perfect time like a battery-powered watch. In addition, they do require service occasionally and the service can be somewhat costly depending on what the watch requires for optimal timekeeping. Similar to vintage and new automobiles, regular maintenance and care is recommended for the lasting reliability of your timepiece.

Vintage watches are not water resistant and not waterproof, unless rigorously tested and certified otherwise. If dunked in water, the watch can flood and be destroyed. Water can also enter the watch in high humidity environments and damage the movement and dial as well as hands. We suggest not swimming with vintage watches or taking them in a sauna or similarly humid environment.

If dropped, mishandled or otherwise abused, the movement or other parts of the watch can be damaged. Please handle with care.

Care has been taken to try to ensure the watches are running and in good condition. Please note that all watches and items are offered and sold "as is". We hope you enjoy this item and wear it in good health for years to come!
