The Glycine Airman was a watch popular with American pilots and soldiers during the Vietnam War and has 24-hour time, meaning that the hour hand only rotates once per day. This is one of the nicest I have seen, with an unpolished case and mint dial, plus it retains the original pin that holds the seconds hand at 12:00 when setting it, which is sort of a primitive “hacking” function so the seconds hand does not continue to run when setting the time.
This watch is currently on view at the Rowing Blazers Clubhouse at 161 Grand Street in New York City. Curated by Wind Vintage. Ships separately. Please allow an additional 7-10 days for delivery. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for inquiries.
