Seiko Diving WatchFoundwell vintage $745
A stainless steel automatic Seiko diving watch. This is an icon of last quarter 20th Century design. Instantly recognizable, and becoming highly sought after, the Seiko 6309 was launched to replace the very desirable 6105 in 1976, and ran in the line unchanged until 1988. This in may ways is the ultimate dive watch; nearly 45mm in diameter, screw down coin edged crown, knurled bi-directional 60 min timing bezel with round lume plot, broad arrow and sword hands, lollipop seconds, large clear round and trapezium markers, the 12 o'clock ones set with the famous sword in the center. This model also saw the introduction of the day as well as the date at the 3 o'clock position. The depth rating is in white, but flanked by red 'Water Resist'. The condition is superb with very little signs of wear, quite probably unpolished, and all original. The "pip" is missing on the bezel at midnight. The watch also comes on the original Seiko rubber band with signed buckle, collectible in themselves today. The tsunami image on the back is still sharp and has frosting still. This was a much loved and appreciated piece, and is ready to be appreciated again. These are a current classic and future icon.
